Since 2011 we run this project of reciprocal share of knowledge and help between elementary and middle schools of the Instituto Comprensivo di Villanterio, on the province of Pavia, and between community schools of Siavonga (Zambia). These schools, managed by Maria Bambina and the local community, share the aim of guaranteeing primary education and food to more than 500 students coming from the poorest families of the region.

Together we reach 1700 students (1200 Italians and 500 Zambians) who are part of an educational path of mutual discovery by exchanging letters, drawings and participating in photographic exhibitions both in Italy and Zambia. Additionally, every year, Italian children engage in sports competitions organized in order to collect funds and send them to their Zambian friends as help and to support the project for years to come.

The main goals to be achieved with this project are:

  1. Show to the children (in Italy and Zambia) different cultures and traditions, in order grow into a global citizen
  2. Help the schools in Siavonga with teaching material, teaching methods and food for the children in greater need
